Menu Plan Monday (little late!)

This Monday there was a great deal at KFC! I was able to get 8 pieces of grilled chicken and two medium drinks for FREE!!!! How did I do it? My coupons and the promotion for a free piece, no coupons needed got me the chicken. Having to wait for about 15 minutes got me the drinks.

  • Wednesday-Applesauce Chicken
  • Thursday-Homemade pizza
  • Friday-Chicken Quesadillas

Slim Down Saturday

Good news! I lost another pound! I wasn't sure if I was going to loose this week. The only change I made this week was I started doing yard work while Christian plays outside. I guess it helped! Last night we went to the store to do some returns. I decided to look at shorts, because I didn't own a pair that I would step foot outside in. While looking at the sizes I decided to pick on size down from my jeans. When I went to the dressing room I was so surprised that the shorts actually fit! I also tried on some dresses that were too big! Loosing weight is great, but being able to buy a smaller size is AWESOME!!!!

Who said boys are easier?

We put Christian to bed and he was very quiet and tired so we thought he was laying down going to sleep. Well we were wrong! He got his Desitin out of his dresser and put it all over him like lotion and in his hair and on his things, his pillow, his blanket and some toys. I washed his hair four times! It's still in there! We threw his pillow away (dry clean only), his eraser to his chalk board, and I don't know what else we will find! It was all over his blankets and his floor! His room stinks, the hallway stinks, and I'm not sure if it's just in my nose, but I think I can smell it in the living room. He has done this with other creamy things, but not this bad. Who said boys are easier?

Don't forget the backup!

I just learned a little lesson that would have kept me from a lot of stress if I would have done this in the first place. About two months ago we had our photographer come take pictures of the family with our new addition. The pictures were awesome! It took a little while for me to order what I wanted, I choose to get the CD with all the pictures and to print my own. Then we had to wait until it was shipped, so about a month had gone by before I received my CD. I put it in my computer to look at them and they looked sooooo good! I didn't save them to my computer at the time, not sure why. We took the pictures to a couple of places to print some of them. Last night I decided to upload the pics to my computer to ad some to my blog and guess what.....NO PICTURES! Somehow the disc had been reformatted and there weren't any pictures to be viewed. I freaked out! I called the last place we took it, CVS, and they hadn't ever heard of that. I will be taking the CD up there and talking to a manager, we'll see what they will do for me. Then I called my photographer. She was great! She will be sending me another CD by the end of the week. PHEW! I thought the pictures were lost forever. So the lesson learned here was, ALWAYS BACKUP your pictures! I should have uploaded them to my computer and them downloaded to another CD or a USB drive or something!
If you live in North Texas and would like to check out my photographer, please visit her site:

She is wonderful, patient, great with kids, and all other family members. Please let her know you got her name from my blog.

Slim Down Saturday

I have a seven month old and a two year old. After having my first, Christian, I lost all my baby weight soon after having him. Unfortunately I gained back TEN pounds after I stopped nursing. I had not lost any of that weight when I was blessed with Austin. Loosing the weight this time has not been as easy or quickly as the first. After seven months I have lost all the weight from both babies!!! I would like to loose at least five more pounds. I stopped nursing about a week ago and I'm still loosing! Hopefully I will be able to keep it off and loose a little more! I have been eating better, cutting out most of the sugar and eating more fiber. I try not to eat too late, and have healthy snacks in between meals. Now that I'm home I'm more active, not sitting on my butt all day at a computer! Christian and I run around and jump on the trampoline, that's the extent of my workouts. I haven't gotten into a workout routine yet, but I'm thinking that I need to try that pretty soon. Notice I said, "TRY" I haven't ever been good at organizing and sticking to my own workouts. Every Saturday I will post my loss, (or gain) and what I did to contribute to the (hopefully) lower number. I'd love for you to share any tips that you may have that work for you.
OK, here it is! Weight: 135 Goal:130 To Go: 5

New Stay At Home Mom

I recently became a stay at home mom. My husband and I decided this was best for our family financially and emotionally. I get the opportunity to watch my baby grow and develop, and see my toddler master new learning objectives and grow into a wonderful little man. I'm constantly seeking ways to save money and live frugally. I love going to the grocery store and see my $20.00 bill come down to $.05 (yes this just happened last night! I'm psyched!) My husband, James, used to do most of the cooking because I didn't know how to cook much of anything, but now I'm learning new recipes and we have a new dish at least twice a week. I've started menu planning, you'll see my weekly menus on Sundays. I'll also be posting great deals that I find and funny stories from my house throughout the week. I invite you to join me on my journey to keep diapers changed, toys picked up, laundry folded, dinner on the table, and hopefully find a little time for myself!
